Our final week of Autumn 1

Date: 18th Oct 2017 @ 11:56am

What a busy and exciting first half term we have had in Year 2!

In English this week, the children have been reading a lovely text called Silly Billy by Anthony Browne. In this story, there is a little boy who finds it hard to sleep because his head is full of worries. To help him to overcome this, his Grandma gives him a set of worry dolls to put under his pillow.

This book has inspired us to make our very own worry dolls and write a set of instructions on how to make them :-)

In maths, the children have been practising multiplication and division strategies using their knowledge of 2, 5 and 10 times tables. We have also been practising recognising and describing 2d and 3d shapes.

In our Art lesson, we had great fun designing and making a clay pinch pot and using tools to decorate it.

As we approach our half term break, we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your on-going support this half term!

We hope the children have a well-earned break and happy holiday!
