Home Learning - Friday 1st May PYJAMARAMA DAY!

Hello Everyone! 😊

Today is a very exciting day as it is ‘Pyjamarama Day’. This is an event from the Book Trust and the idea is that you enjoy a fun filled day in your pyjamas celebrating stories and reading.

Head over to the Book Trust website to take part!
Below, you will find a picture of the Festival Line Up for the day – all of this is available on the Book Trust website (use the link above). I am very excited to join in with some of the activities.

Here is another useful link to a YouTube channel which has been set up by Book Trust. You can listen to stories being read by celebrities! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE5MZB5pedUMQRHw2etfKDkufdGKDiPsU

Here is a list of some activities for you to complete throughout the day (the only requirement is that you must be wearing your pyjamas!)
I have attached all of these activities below – if you do not have access to a printer, you could draw your own!

Biscuit Baking - I have included a recipe for the ‘best ever biscuits!’ Could you make some biscuits and enjoy them whilst snuggling up with a good book?
Create your own PJ mask -
Colour in and decorate your very own PJ Masks character mask. Once you’ve finished, cut it out using the guided lines and tie some string through each of the holes on the sides to complete your mask.
Decorate your own pyjamas -
Design and colour your Pyjamarama top and bottom with your favourite colours. See how colourful you can make them!

Design your own bedtime story - Get your creative Pyjamarama hat on and design your own bedtime story book cover. Also, don’t forget to give your book a name!

Make a book mark - Create your own colourful Pyjamarama bookmark. Once you’ve finished decorating it, cut it out using the guided lines. Use the bookmark in your book - you could also use it to keep track of what you’re reading by writing down the name of your books.
Rhyming Pairs - See if you can match the rhyming pairs below. Draw a line between the two that you think match and then colour them in - the brighter the better!

Where I sleep - See if you can match each animal or person with their favourite place to sleep. Draw a line between the two that you think match and then colour them in - the brighter the better!
Find your next book – Follow this link to find suggestions of great reads for every age from 0-11

EXTRA SPECIAL CHALLENGE
As an extra challenge, we would like you to put your creative hats on!
Can you find an exciting, creative and unusual place to read a book? As we are not able to go out much, we would love you to do this in your house or garden. Where will you choose?... The bath, the shed, the wardrobe, a cupboard?
Use blankets and pillows to make your chosen space nice and cosy! We would LOVE to see photographs of you reading in your creative place – keep an eye on Tapestry today, you may just see some familiar faces joining in with this challenge!
