Year 1 Home Learning 20th April

Good Morning Year 1!

I hope that you are all safe and well? I also hope that you were able to enjoy the Easter holidays and that you ate lots of delicious chocolate! I think we were very lucky with the weather too, it has been fabulous and I bet lots of you have been out in your gardens. I was out in my garden over the holidays and you'll never guess who visited my garden! The Easter Bunny! He left some little Easter eggs in my back garden, I was delighted!

This week for your English home learning, we'd like you to read a story, I will pop it on the website then each day we will add a picture from the story for you to look at and write about.

English.

Please read the Enormous Turnip first with a grown up then look at the picture and write about what is happening in the picture.

What can you see in this picture? What do you think might happen? Think back to the story then write a sentence about it.

I had a go and here is my sentence.

The farmer planted turnip seeds in his huge field.

Can you see how I used an adjective to describe the field, I used ‘ huge’. Can you think of any other adjectives?

Maths.

Ask a grown up to give you some toys. Count how many you have altogether. Can you put out another group of toys so you have one more and then one less?

We are all missing you but we hope that you are staying safe at home with your grown up. Keep smiling!

The Year One Team.
