Home learning 7th May - VE Day

Hello Everyone 😊
I am so glad the sunshine has returned! I hope you have all been enjoying it.

As tomorrow is ‘VE Day’, today’s home learning will be linked to that. VE Day is celebrated on 8th May every year as on 8th May 1945, Winston Churchill announced that the war was over. The 8th May then became known as ‘Victory in Europe Day’ or ‘VE Day’ for short.

Have a look at the PowerPoint below to find out more!

I have also attached some activities for you to do today in preparation for some VE Day celebrations. You could make your own medal, make some bunting, create your own Union Jack flag or have a go at some of the war time recipes! All of these activities are available below for you to download.

I wonder if you could link any of this to our number of the week? Maybe you could make 13 flags for your bunting?

EXTRA HARD CHALLENGE: The colours of the Union Jack are red, white and blue. Can you find 4 red things, 7 white things and 2 blue things? How many items do you have altogether? Can you write a number sentence to show your answer?
