Year 1 Home Learning 19.3.20

Good morning everybody!

Hope you are all keeping well. Today, we have three activities all linked to what we have been learning in class over the past few days.

English: Can you write a wanted poster for the mean, ugly troll from 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'? Try to include as many great adjectives as you can so we are confident we will catch the right troll!

Maths: Yesterday's home learning was a doubling game. Doubling is where we add the same number to itself. Today, your teachers would like you to have a look at halving. Take an EVEN number of objects from around your house and split them into 2 groups. How many do you have in each group? Sharing a number between 2 groups is called 'halving'.

Curriculum: If you can, go outside and collect some leaves. Bring them in and take a leaf and put it under a piece of paper. Using a pen/pencil/colours- whatever you have in your house- colour over the top of the paper. What patterns can you see emerging? You should begin to see the patterns on the leaf. What gorgeous patterns in nature!

Have a great day everybody, stay safe and keep washing those hands!
