Year 5 Working from home -Wednesday

Year 5 Learning From Home- Wednesday.

Good morning Year 5! I hope you are all keeping safe.

To start off the day, I would highly recommend taking part in the live PE lesson from Joe Wicks, available on Youtube at 9am for those of you wanting to keep busy! It is a fantastic start to the day. Then, take a look at the tasks for today and give them a go in your exercise books.

English

Revise the definitions of each type of punctuation included on the worksheet to give your brains a refresher! When you are confident with this, complete each of the worksheets adding the correct punctuation to complete the sentence. You can write these sentences in your lined workbook. This will also give you chance to practice beautiful handwriting! There are answers included at the end to mark your work with once you have finished.

Maths

Start by completing the 5 in 5 activity in your exercise book.

For your main activity, have a go at completing the mixed 4 digit addition worksheet. Similar to yesterday, but some of the questions will include carrying and some won’t. Remember to use the squares in your maths books to help you set out your work correctly. There is an extra ‘missing digit’ activity for you at the bottom of the worksheet if you would like a challenge. The answers are at the bottom for you to mark your work with when you have finished.

Have a look at the links on the class website above for additional activities to do throughout the day!

Mindfulness

During times like this, there can understandably be a lot of anxieties for both children and adults. It is also very important to look after our mental health and well-being. To help children with these worries, have a go at a mindfulness colouring activity. ‘The Worry Tree- Is something worrying you? Write it down and place it on The Worry Tree. By writing down your worry and talking about it with someone, you can set it free and leave it for The Worry Tree’. This can be completed on plain paper, and children can design their own worry tree alone, with their siblings or with parents/carers, before adding their worries onto it. Why not try this today, as it is Well-being Wednesday!

Stay safe, happy and healthy. Keep smiling!
