Year 6's Trip to the Air Raid Shelters

Year 6 were treated to a fantastic day out to the Air Raid Shelters in Stockport this week.  We had a chance to explore the shelters from WW2 and treated as real life evacuees for the full day.

We went to a WW2 museum and every got to have a go at various household chores including, making rag rugs, washing clothes using a mangle and cleaning the floors using a Eubank.

This was an amazing experience for all of the children and lots of learning took place in an interesting and fun environment.I'm sure you'll agree from the pictures below!
