YR Home Learning - Thursday 21st May

Hello everyone. I hope you are all keeping safe and well, I miss you all very much!
We have been very lucky with the weather and it is lovely to see the sunshine again, I am sure you are all having fun outside.

Literacy:
As it is Mental Health Week and the theme is ‘kindness’, I thought we could link our literacy learning to kindness. Can you draw a picture and write a message for a member of your family, a friend or maybe a neighbour who may need something to make them smile 😊 Remember to use your phonics to sound out your words and don’t forget to use finger spaces and a full stop!

Maths:
Make your own number line to 20 – you can be as creative as you like!
Don’t forget to put the numbers in the correct order, maybe you could keep the number line in your bedroom to help you to remember the order of the numbers.
To do this you could use paint, collage materials, chalk, glitter, felt tips etc. I can’t wait to see some creative number lines on Tapestry!

Additional:
Can you make your own paint and draw a beautiful picture?
You will need flour, water and food colouring.
I have attached a PDF below which gives you the instructions you need to make your own paint. I can’t wait to see some beautiful pictures!

Enjoy these phonics clips provided by letters and sounds which we follow in school. They will help you with your reading and writing.
