LO: To generate vocabulary for the build-up of our narrative. 

In this lesson, we will re-read verse 3 of The Highwayman and explore ways to generate plenty of fantastic vocabulary to use when we write the build-up as a narrative.

Maths

LO: To multiply 4 digit by 1 digit numbers using the short multiplication method. 

Today we will using the formal written layout to multiply numbers with up to four digits by a single digit. We will investigate this using pictorial, concrete and abstract representation. We will then develop our strategy to understand how to use the same method to multiply by 2-digit multiples of ten.
