In a nod to the 2021 Olympics, Next week, (Monday 21st June- Friday 25th June) we will be having our very own exciting Broad Oak Olympic-themed Sports Week which also coincides with National Sports Week.

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, parents will NOT be allowed to attend this year, but the children are still very excited to compete.

Wednesday 23rd June Y1 Y2
Thursday 24th June YN and Little Oaks YN and Little Oaks
Friday 25th June YR Celebration Assembly

Please Note: Nursery and Little Oaks will not be following this format but will still need comfortable clothes and running shoes, as they will be having their own, customised sports day (please see timetable above).

All children from Reception to Year 6 will take part. They must wear an appropriate PE kit and suitable running shoes on the day of their event please for health and safety reasons and sun cream and a sun hat if it’s hot. Water bottles are also recommended. The children have already been chosen to represent one of four coloured ‘Olympic teams’ (England, Republic of Ireland, France and Spain).

Your child should be able to tell you which team they are on and what colour they need to wear- any questions please check with their class teacher. On the day, we would like you child to come to school in the colour of their team if possible (e.g. a coloured T shirt, socks, shorts or hair bobble etc.) If you are struggling to find a suitable coloured t-shirt or accessory for your child, please don’t worry- we have plenty of coloured sticky labels to go around.

The week will culminate in a special celebration assembly on the Friday 25th June and a trophy will be awarded to the winning country, with the main theme being ‘team spirit’.

Thank you for your on-going support. Miss Bowes
