EYFS Home Learning

Update 16.10.20

Good afternoon everybody,

As we come to the end of our first half term, I would just like to take this opportunity to celebrate with you. Our children have amazed me with how well they have settled into reception. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the smiles on their faces. The provision in reception is safe and, to date, we have had no positive cases of staff or children in school, thank you for helping us to put everybody's safety first during this time. After half term, we will be extending our reception provision to allow children to access fun and exciting learning in all three classrooms - our high standards and risk assessments remain the same. This is a very exciting change and will provide the children with high quality learning opportunities. This will be under review and everyone’s safety will always come first. I hope you have a restful, safe and enjoyable break. I look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday 2nd November.

Miss Fisher (EYFS Phase Leader)

Welcome to our EYFS home learning page!

This half term our main priority is settling children into their new setting and forming positive relationships. Our practitioners will be spending time getting to know your child. We will be focussing on developing children's PRIME areas of developement. These are:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Physical development
  • Communication and Language

Below you will find some suggested activities to help your child develop in these areas which you can use at home.

Tapestry

We will use Tapestry to set work for your child.  You will be able to log in and support your child’s learning using the activities provided.  Families can take photographs or write comments and upload them onto Tapestry.  Staff can then respond to your child’s work and this also keeps a good link between home and school.  We love seeing what your child has been working on!

If you do not have access to Tapestry please text or email school broadoak@sthelens.org.uk with your email address.

Daily Timetable

Each families capacity to make time for this will be different and it is easy for the day to become lost and hard to keep track of what you have achieved.  We understand that it may be difficult to keep to the same structure everyday, but we have included an example of a timetable you may wish to follow with your child at home and you can adapt it to suit your needs.

Areas of learning activities will be shared on Tapestry.
