Phonics:
LO: To practice reading and writing captions.

In this lesson you will be practising reading and writing captions. Think carefully about sounding out and blending to help you read.

English:
LO: To Understand how captions are used in newspaper reports.

In this lesson we will look at how to write captions for pictures in a newspaper report.

Captions are very important because they tell the reader who and what is happening in a picture. Have a look at some of the examples on the Session PDF below.

Now have a go at writing some captions for different pictures from The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Remember keep them short! You can either do this on the session worksheet below or just on a piece of paper.

In this lesson you will explore mathematical problems in context and consider different solutions.
