  • Title
  • Subtitle
  • Photographs
  • Captions (tend to be underneath a photograph)
  • Introduction
  • Paragraphs containing lots of information

Task: Look at the non-chronological report about sharks (page 1 only). Use a coloured pen or pencil to highlight the different features.

LC: What facilities are in a village, town and city?

A facility is a place where you can do something eg swimming in a swimming pool, watching a film at the cinema. We sometimes find facilities in more than one place. For example there may be a cafe in a small village but there will be lots of cafes in a big city. Why? Because there are more people in a big city so there needs to be more cafes for people to enjoy.

Task: Take a look at the pictures on the download sheet. For each picture, decide where you would find the facilitly and why it is there. Some facilities you may find in all three places!
