LO: To explore subheadings for a non-chronological report on Africa.
Today we are going to start planning our non-chronological report about Africa. We have learnt about the Massai Tribe, Homes, Landmarks, Climate and Animals. What type of subtitles could we use for each of these topics? For example ‘Where is Africa?’ and ‘What type of animals can you find in Africa?’. Take some time to come up with different subtitles.
Task: Choose your 3 best subtitles about 3 different topics and write them in each of the 3 boxes on your planning sheet.
Maths
Last week we used column addition to add two 2-digit numbers briding the ten. This week we are subtracting two 2-digit numbers using base 10. Look at the video above to see how we do it.
Step 1- Draw the base 10 of the bigger amount.
Step 2 - Cross out the amount you are taking away.
Step 3- Count how many tens you have left and write the amount. Count how many ones you have left and write the amount.
