The informaton below relates to catch up funding for the Covid-19 Pandemic. Paper copies of all information are available at the school office if you prefer.

Catch Up Funding

School has been allocated the estimate figure of £45,040 in catch up funding. The first payment of £11,260 was due in Autumn Term 2 2020. This is based on pupil numbers from the previous year. The remaining funds will be paid in a further two payments in spring and summer based on pupil numbers in October 2020.

School has registered for the national tutoring programme and intends to spend some funds with tutor support for pupils in Y5 and Y6.
This will involve school accessing tutoring from an accredited tutoring provider which has passed a set of rigorous quality benchmarks.

We have also registered and been accepted for participation in the Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI) in conjunction with the DfE.

NELI is a high-quality, evidence-based, 20-week intervention designed to improve the language skills of reception age pupils. It involves scripted individual and small group language teaching sessions, delivered by trained school staff, usually teaching assistants. Several EEF trials have found that NELI improves both children’s oral language and early literacy skills. A recent trial of the programme found that children made on average three months of additional progress compared to children in the comparison group.

With the remaining funds, we will invest in technology to provide interventions in English and Maths for KS1 and KS2. The benefit of offering intervention through technology is that delivery will not be impacted by staffing issues and equipment will be available for loan to children if they need to access remote learning from home, removing one of the barriers identified from school closure in March.
