Literacy:

Have another think about our story of the week 'Dear Dinosaur', what can your child remember about it? Discuss when Max went on holiday to the beach, what did he send to his dinosaur friend? He sent a postcard.  What is a postcard? Have you seen one before? Have you received one before? Have you written or sent a post card before?

Explain to your child the concept of a postcard.

Use the attached post card template and pretend you are Max to write the postcard.

Tell your dinosaur friend what you have done at the beach. For example, you might write,

‘I can see sand’

‘I am digging’

‘It is hot’

Maths:
Can you go on a number hunt? The challenge is to say a number and your child has to retrieve that many items from around your house. For example, you might say ‘3’ and your child may go and get 3 teddy bears. Can they check the amount they have collected by re-counting them?
