English

LO: To use adverbs to describe the verb

Today we are going to look at adverbs and how and why we use them to make our writing sparkle.  Work through the information sheet or have a watch of this video to learn more.

Not only does an adverb describe the verbs, they are also a great way of explaining how a person is speaking too and that instead of ‘said’ we can use lots of alternative synonyms eg, 'let's go!' the children screamed excitedly.

Task: Complete the worksheet.

Reading VIPERS

When we read we use VIPERS to answer questions about the text so that we cover the key areas of questions that children should be able to answer. Today's text is all about leopards!

VIPERS stands for:

P prediction

E explain

Challenge Curriculum

LC: Can I create an algorithm?

Today's lesson will build on your learning from Tuesday and Wednesday. We initially learnt all about what an algorithm is and what it is used for. Then we learnt how to follow one correctly. Today, you will be writing your own!! Using the worksheet below, your task is to direct your adult from the 'Start' square to one of the 3D shapes. Remember your intructions must be clear and precise. You need to tell your adult how many steps forward, backwards; whether to face left or right. Can you direct them to all seven 3D shapes starting at the 'start' square each time?
