Good morning Year 1,
I hope you had a fantastic day back at your learning yesterday. It is a beautiful sunny day and we have some more amazing work for you to do today. If I were you I would complete these in the garden enjoying the sunshine. Make sure you are staying safe!
English Task:
What can you see in this picture? What has happened? Let’s write a sentence about it. Can you start your sentence with ‘After’? Have a look at mine!
After the farmer planted the seeds, they soon began to grow. There was one turnip which would not stop growing. It grew into an enormous turnip.

Maths Task:
Today we are going to have a go at solving some word problems using addition, remember to read the question very carefully and check your answers.
- 6 people are on the bus. 4 more people get on the bus. How many people are on the bus now?
- Katie has 12 teddy bears. Katie’s mum gives her 6 new teddy bears. How many teddy bears does Katie have now?
- Ben has 7 apples. He gets 3 more apples from the shop. How many apples does Ben now have?
