Our Curriculum Statement
We are proud to foster a love of learning through the delivery of an exciting and engaging curriculum which meets the individual needs of all our pupils and provides them with the opportunities to overcome inequality. We aim:
- To help children acquire the knowledge they need and give them opportunties to apply this in new and interesting ways
- To enrich children’s learning and experiences
- To equip children with a wide vocabulary (through active and explicit instruction) that they are able to apply in a range of different contexts
- To support children to become independent, curious and resilient, reflective learners
- For spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development, which prepares children for later life
- Children will become good citizens who are caring and conscious of their responsibilities to each other
- To enable children to contribute positively to school and the wider community, now and in the future
Our Broad Oak Family Values underpin the ethos of our school. Our curriculum is a topic-based approach, which provides rich, diverse and exciting themes that appeal to our children whilst covering all of the separate elements required by the National Curriculum.
