Pirate day!

This week we had our very own pirate maths challenge day. Captain Morgan had found himself in St. Helens and needed the help of the Broad Oak pirates. Over the day we completed a series of maths problems using lots of different skills, we had to break locks, work out prices for engraving swords and then solve some word problems using treasure maps. Then at the end of the day Year 5 got the opportunity to go and see Captain Morgan again! He taught us a secret code for guessing an object picked when you were out the room. We then made our own and Conrad and Leon managed to come up with a fantastic code. He also gave us a code to crack to help him find a sword, we managed to do this and gave him the coordinates to find the treasure. It was a great day and we had lots of fun being pirates!
