Y4A Debate!

In English, Year 4 have been studying the novel Charlotte's Web. In the story, Wilbur the pig finds out that the farmer is plotting to kill him to make smokey bacon and ham! In class, we debated the issue of killing animals for meat, thinking about arguments for and against. The children worked in teams and gave excellent performances during the class debate. Overall, the class voted FOR killing animals for meat, however we agreed that Wilbur the pig was more like a pet in the story and we are AGAINST killing pets for food.
