Year 2 home learning 28.4.20

Good Morning, I hope you are all well. We are missing you all very much but home is still the safest place for us all to be!

Here are today’s tasks.

English
Today we are going to be writing sentences using capital letters, full stops and joining words (and, because and if).  Click on this link to watch a video recapping sentences.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zntmxyc

Activity one: watch the video about caterpillars and write six sentences using the key words: leaf, cocoon and wiggle.

Activity two:  Imagine you are the caterpillar. Write a sentence for each of the three things you were doing - wriggling on a leaf, spinning in the cocoon and flapping everywhere as a butterfly.

Activity three:  Try making a caterpillar dance using your whole body.

Maths
Today we are going to continue to subtract 2 two-digit numbers using tens and ones where we need to crack a ten. This happens when we are taking away more ones than we have. We need to ‘borrow’ a ten and make ten extra ones.

Look at the document below to recap on how we subtract numbers that require borrowing.

Have a go at the following calculations.

53 - 28 =

67 - 29 =

55 - 48 =

82 - 18 =

55 - 29 =
