Year 4 Activities 1/4/20
Good Morning Year 4
Wednesday has arrived and we are almost halfway through the week which means not long to go until the Easter break.
I hope you are all keeping well and are enjoying your learning at home. We are missing you all lots but know that for now home is the best place to be to keep us all safe. School is very quiet without you all that is for sure!
So your activities for today are as follows ...
Maths
Your Maths activities for this week will focus upon addition. Your Maths activity for today is to practice your completing column addition calculations. Today, you are going to add two 4 digit numbers together. There will be no exchanges required today. Take a look at the YouTube video below to refresh your memory of column addition and then complete the questions on the worksheet!

Extra - if you want to keep going try this game to practise some more. You can choose how big your numbers are so go for 2 numbers less than 1000 or challenge yourself to 2 numbers less than 10,000.
English
So we have spent a day on looking at how to link sentences using conjunctions and we have done some brainstorming for your persuasive argument. Today, I would like you to start building up a bank of vocabulary that you can use in your persuasive argument. You will need; sentence openers, emotive vocabulary, imperative verbs and maybe a rhetorical question.
If you have managed to login to the pupil area see if you can add your ideas to the Y4 Presuasion Discussion so we can all take a look and share our creativity.
As it is well-being wednesday around the country make a list of your favourite activities - what do you enjoy doing? It might be spending some time playing football in the garden, or singing along to your favourite song. Whatever it might be make sure you put aside some time to do one thing you enjoy today.
Keep smiling - and don't get up to too much considering it's April fools day!
