Year 4 Activities 6/5/20
Good Morning all,
it's Wednesday so almost half-way through the week. I don't know about you but I need a daily reminder of what day it is at the moment. I've been crossing days off on the calendar in the kitchen each morning and giving myself one activity everyday to look forward to when I've got my work for the day done. Today is going to be a Facetime call with my bestie to see how she is getting on and catch up. Her little boy turned 3 last week so will have to see if he liked the gardening kit I sent him. I hope you are all keeping in touch with loved ones using technology as much as you can to keep smiling. Remember you can keep in touch with us by email - just send to broadaok@sthelens.org.uk
So tasks for today
Maths - This week your maths activities will focus on multiplication! We will be revisiting grid method this week before moving on to recapping short multiplication next week. Today, we will revisit multiplying a two digit number by a one digit number e.g. 42 x 3. Watch the following YouTube video to remind yourself how to use the grid method correctly.

Now have a go at completing the following multiplication questions using the grid method! Use a calculator to mark your answers.
- 34 x 6
- 72 x 9
- 41 x 8
- 23 x 3
- 85 x 6
- 32 x 7
- 82 x 5
- 18 x 4
- 48 x 2
- 56 x 6
English - Fantastic work over the last two days – you should all be extremely proud of yourselves. The task today is to edit your work. If you have a purple pen that would be excellent, however, if not, just a different coloured pen to what you have written in is fine.
Ask a family member if they will help you to read through your work and identify if there:
Are any spelling mistakes?
Is any missing punctuation?
Are any words missing out of sentences?

Did you know that this week is Sun Awareness Week? So let's hope that we can spend sometime in the garden or out in the sun for at least a little bit today. Our Broad Oak family has renamed Wednesday as Wellbeing Wednesday when we try to do something to make us feel good in amongst all this change. For me it is often making time to bake, something I really enjoy, so I'm thinking some scones to enjoy with jam and cream to celebrate VE day on Friday. What about you - what will you do that makes you smile?
Enjoy your day
