Good morning Year 4. I hope you are all well and looking forward to finishing on Thursday, ready for our bank holiday weekend celebrating VE Day.
Maths
This week your maths activities will focus on multiplication! We will be revisiting grid method this week before moving on to recapping short multiplication next week. In order to complete multiplication questions accurately e.g. 432 x 8, you need to have a solid knowledge of your times tables. Today, we are going to spend some more time revisiting our times tables.
Today, I would like you to practice your times tables on Mathsframe Multiplication Check. This game exactly replicates the government times table test that you would have sat at the end of Y4. You will be given 25 times tables questions from 1 x 1 to 12 x 12 and will have six seconds to answer each question, good luck!

I would then like you to answer these times tables questions in your Maths book. Either ask your grown up to mark your questions or use a calculator to mark them.

How did your appearance description go yesterday? Today you will be writing the second paragraph about Mara and her personality. Remember to look back on the vocabulary work that you did last week, particularly the Zone of Relevance as there were some fantastic adjectives in that activity that you can use here.
In your paragraph today, try and include all the techniques from yesterday (noun phrases, fronted adverbials, conjunctions and similes) plus adverbs e.g. gently, quickly, decisively, with care, with excitement.
